Advertising privacy notice

Our website collects almost nothing. Our work for clients is different, because advertising runs on data. This notice explains our role in that work and the rules we hold ourselves to.

Effective 3 October 2026All policies

1. Who this is for

This notice is for people who see an advertisement, receive an email or visit a page that is part of a program Perigon Media manages for a client (an "advertiser"), and for the clients and partners who want to know how we handle data on their behalf. For information collected through our own website, see the privacy notice.

2. Our role

When we run a program for an advertiser, the advertiser decides why and how personal information is used. We act on its instructions as a service provider (a "processor" under European law). In practice that means:

  • we work inside advertising, analytics, email and affiliate platform accounts that the advertiser owns or controls;
  • the advertiser's own privacy policy governs what is collected from its customers and how it is used; and
  • data belonging to one advertiser is not used for another advertiser or for our own purposes.

3. Information typically involved

The kinds of information that advertising programs commonly involve, and that we may handle on an advertiser's behalf, are:

CategoryExamplesUsed for
Online identifiersCookie IDs, mobile advertising IDs, IP address, device and browser typeDelivering ads, limiting how often they are shown, measuring results
ActivityPages viewed, ads seen or clicked, purchases or sign-ups attributed to a campaignReporting, optimization, attribution to affiliate partners
Contact detailsEmail address, and phone number where SMS is usedSending messages people have opted in to receive
Approximate locationCountry, region or city derived from IP addressShowing ads in the right market, geographic testing
Audience segmentsInterest or demographic groupings supplied by a platform or the advertiserDeciding who sees which ad

4. Rules we apply to client work

  • Consent travels with the data. We ask advertisers to confirm that contact lists and audience data were collected with the permissions the intended use requires, and we do not load lists that were bought, rented or scraped.
  • Sensitive information is off limits for targeting. We do not build or use audiences based on health conditions, sexual orientation, precise location, immigration status, religious belief, or financial hardship, and we do not knowingly target children.
  • Opt-outs are honored. Unsubscribes, platform opt-outs and legally recognized browser signals are respected in the programs we operate.
  • Least data, least access. We use aggregate reporting wherever it answers the question, and limit account access to the people working on the program.
  • Measurement without surveillance. We prefer holdout tests, geographic experiments and modelling to methods that depend on following individuals across sites.
  • Hand-back and deletion. When an engagement ends, data and account access are returned to the advertiser or deleted, as the agreement provides.

5. Your choices

  • Ads from a particular brand. Use the opt-out in that brand's privacy policy, or the "why this ad" control most platforms attach to each ad.
  • Interest-based ads generally. The industry tools and device settings listed on our privacy choices page apply across participating companies.
  • Email. Use the unsubscribe link in the message. Problems can be reported under our email and anti-spam policy.
  • Access, correction and deletion. These requests are best sent to the advertiser, who controls the data. If you send one to us through the privacy request form, tell us which brand it concerns and we will pass it on and assist.

6. Partners and platforms

Advertising programs rely on other companies: ad platforms, exchanges, verification and measurement vendors, email service providers and affiliate networks. Each handles data under its own terms and privacy policy. The publishers and affiliates we work with must follow our partner policy, and advertisers must follow our advertising policy.

7. Changes and contact

We will update this notice if our role or practices change. Questions can be sent through the privacy request form.
